Inaugural lectures

Starting in 2022 the University of Groningen Press will present inaugural lectures held at the University of Groningen in a new series: Inaugural lectures.

An inaugural lecture is a key milestone in any academic’s career. It offers newly arrived or promoted professors the opportunity to introduce themselves and update colleagues on current and future plans. The professor (orator) gives a speech that lasts no longer than 30 minutes and must be understandable to the general public.
