At present, there is little material available to help both novice and experienced (University) instructors effectively supervise academic research, particularly theses. In many cases, thesis supervision becomes a protracted process that is frustrating for both instructors and students. This guide offers practical tips for optimizing this process by drawing on the agile methodology, which was developed in the business world.

Author Biography

Laura Peters, University of Groningen

is associate professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the University of Groningen. Her main research topics concern national and foreign criminal law and justice in the digital era. In particular, she is interested in studying methods and innovations which may increase the effectiveness of the criminal process while carefully balancing effectiveness with fundamentals of criminal justice systems and respect for human rights.
